Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course not only provides a good game of golf but also excellent practice facilities and a learning center that offers free lessons. The course features several lengthy par 3s and par 4s. It is beginner friendly but it also offers plenty of challenge to the experienced golfer. Water comes into play on nine holes and the rolling terrain creates tricky uneven lies. There are also strategically placed bunkers protecting the greens to watch out for. Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course boasts outstanding practice facilities including a lighted driving range that stays open late and in the summer there are misting systems to keep golfers cool.

Good cheap golf, clean restrooms, good tees & greens, good fairways, quite a bit of hardpan outside the fairways which should make you stay in the fairways. Tom (Pro & Owner) really a nice guy. Think he's good with kids. Pro shop staff great. You can hit range balls (hardpan with some target greens), chip, putt, go play a round or have a hot dog and a beer. We'd go back!
Classic
The home town course! Glen lakes is always great
Well Worth It
This is not a country club or a resort course. It is a nice recreational executive course that was sufficiently challenging to make it interesting for the more advanced player but easy enough for a relative novice to enjoy. The course was in good shape and the greens were excellent and rolled very true. This is a fun course where you can get nine holes in easily in an hour and a half. The staff was cordial and the course was a very good value.
Nice 9-hole course.
It's not like playing the Hilton, but for the money this is a great find. You never need a tee time, however, GolfNow can provide tee times at a real bargain.
Great Time
For a quick 9 with some challenging holes this is the course.
Worn out corse
Sure, we had no problem with pace of play as course was not very busy, but probably due to it's poor condition. Winter overseeding was cheaply and poorly done, with either dry rot earth or flooding due to over watering. Greens were really bad and bumpy. Hard to find anything good to say about this course nowadays. Iy was better a few years ago but has lost it's appeal and maitenance has degraded significantly
Course closed but accepting tee times.
My wife and I were looking for a 9 hole round on Sunday and there were many rounds listed with a cart as well as walking. I made the tee time and we headed to the course. Upon arrival there weren't many cars in the lot. We went to check in and were told that the course was closed and not due to open until Wednesday. I let the pro shop know that there were many times available for that day, as well as Monday and Tuesday and that we had paid the Golfnow fee. While he was very apologetic, the times shouldn't be there if the course is closed. Very frustrating.
Sorry Dude
Made reservation on Golf Now and drove 40 miles to try this course. Should have stayed home and cut my grass... Upon arrival, was told a tounament was ongoing and my group had to play the Lakes 9 twice. Guy behind me in line said that 9 was not as good as the other two. Had nothing to compare, but after the disappointing round I assumed he was right. Greens were slow, bumpy and had tuffs of crabgrass. The fairways rarely presented a good lie, and the course layout was boring. The insult to injury was making the turn, getting behind a 5-some and having to play that sub-par 9 again! Starter said "sorry dude" and blamed Golf Now. I won't be back.
Not going back...
Hadn't played this course in many years...very disappointed. Overall cleanliness not good. At least four of the ball washers dry, two covered in bird droppings/un-usable, one broken. Staff was okay, but confused about green fees and awkward. Green conditions fair to poor. Not going back. For same money, several other short nines available and a much better experience.
Easy layout but elevated greens adds a little challenge
They were aireating the day we played and the fairways were riddled with plugs. Greens putted ok just not what i like as a better player.
Course is senior friendly
Greens were in good shape, but the fairways need some work.
Great course for 9 hole course
If you just starting It's great for starter. I play it to warm for a big 18 hole golf course on the weekend.I llike it for par threes.
Good course
Good course and good For the prices. Also is a goodGolf course to test your golf game.
Had fun
Played nine holes and had a good time. Will play again
no frills, but good value
Went here on a Saturday with my wife who is just learning. We didn't want to be "those people" that hold up everyone. It was a long round, but a beautiful day and nobody seemed to be in a race. Hate that about some places where pace of play is an obsession. Course was in very adequate shape and greens were consistent. Enjoyed it.
Nice older course
When I pulled up to the clubhouse, it wasn't too impressive. But the course itself grew on me as I played it. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the greens. It was also refreshing to see young kids out hitting the ball and learning the game. (It can be tiresome playing around too many grouchy older folks like me all the time).
very nice course
fairways and greens were in excellent shape.... water comes into play on 3 holes....
Great Course
Great little Neighborhood course. Always is great shape and pace of play couldn't have been better for a Sunday.
Great for beginners and someone on a budget
It is a great place to learn how to play golf or if you are on a budget. As far as executive courses go, this one is a little longer than most, which gives you the opportunity to hit more clubs. I think it has six par 4s and three par 3s.
The staff is very friendly and the know who they are catering to.
Golf Lesson
I had a problem with my short game and needed help. I saw Thom and learned the art of chipping and pitching. I believe the instruction I received will give me more opportunities to get birdies and pars. Anyone who haves a problem with their game, he can help......
I don't believe they overseed in the winter which might explain your experience. If you want overseeding at a value price try Desert Mirage, but you'll also find it very busy and painfully slow.
