About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
The Club West Golf Club offers 18 holes on a Brian Whitcomb-designed golf course that was originally built in 1993 and measures 7,142 yards from the championship tees on a par-72 golf course.
Club West Golf Club claims the 17th as its signature hole. It features double-greens, tees elevated 100 feet above the course and vistas of South Mountain and of the Estrella Mountain Range; players ought to pick the green they desire and then check the yardage. If the wind isn't blowing you back, pick one less club than usual, aim right and swing smoothly.
After the round, head over to the Club West Golf Club's clubhouse, which is the gorgeous home of the Lakeside Grille, which serves breakfast and lunch inside the stunning dining room or on a spacious patio featuring a fireplace and lake view.

Club West Golf
Shotmakers course.
Narrow.
Greens were fast with lots of break
Pace of play was OK. We were held up on the back 9 on just about every hole.
Fairways in good condition
Tee boxes: Some good, some less good.
Never a bad day on a golf course
Greens were pretty patchy but overall the course is nice enough. Will probably play here again.
Very enjoyable round
Really nice course, quite an interesting layout, some blind shots at times which required us to go forward to see where we were going. Greens were hard and moderate speed, we over read the break all day, but puts rolled very true. Fairways were cut tight, and the outer edges had lost grass where it should have been and was just bare dirt. We did not play off of the hard dirt areas considering them ground under repair. Lots of desert challenges if you don't put the ball in the fairway. Traps had some small rocks mixed in with the sand. All in all, a very enjoyable day, beautiful weather, will certainly play again.
Great shape with epic views!
Me and a. Iffy were first off, playing the whites at sunrise! We cruised through in three hours! Fairways and tee boxes very nice as we're roughs. Greens a bit sparse and bumpy. Never cart friendly! New carts! Great practice putting green and very affordable.
Fun course
We really enjoyed playing this course. Greens were fast in our opinion. That's OK!
Will return even if it was 45 minute drive from home. Friendly staff and very helpful.
Great round of golf, greens were very difficult to read.
But that was our fault. Great time
Nice golf course
Played many times. Good putting area. Staff helpful. Playing time gets backed up with full slate
Amazing Course - Needs better care
In my opinion the layout of this course is outstanding. The views are great. The course needs a lot better attention. The fairways were cut extremely short and were very sparce on grass. The greens were also lacking in grass coverage. We plyed the course in exactly 5 hours. This would be one of the best courses in the valley if maintained properly.
Very Disappointed
We were very disappointed to see how the course conditions have deteriorated. We'll not return to ClubWest...
Pace of play
Pace of play was brutal. We had to wait at every hole. Apparently 1 group was holding everyone back.
There was NO Marshall. We ran out of daylight at 16. No rain check.
Our t time was at 2 which should have given us enough time.
Golfing at Club West in Phoenix
I golfed there on 2-20-1917 & it was Presidents' Day so I assumed it would be slow, but it really wasn't
The course was enjoyable, even though it was easy maybe it was enjoyable because of the people I played with
The people that worked at the course where very nice & knowledgeable
Nice for a dessert course.
This was my first time playing this course and overall it was a good experience. It had a lot of interesting holes. A good mix of easy and tough holes. A couple of the par 3's were very scenic as well as challenging. The fairways were pretty good but had a few bare spots. The greens were alright but not quite as smooth as I would like. It's a little more expensive than it should be in my opinion.
Would play again.
I approached this course with an open mind after reading many negative reviews. My wife and I had a very enjoyable round. The course is challenging enough for me, but not so much that it beats you up. It felt like a slow round, but 4:10 is not bad at all. My only complaint/recommendation is to have hire a marshal encouraging groups to keep up. This usually does the trick and at least demonstrates that they're making the effort.
I would play this course again.
A good golf course
This golf course has great bones. It just seems to need some tlc. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in good condition, so no complaints there, but the rest of the course needs some grooming to make it a great course.
They have a great clubhouse, but we could get no service there at 3:50 in the afternoon. They said the kitchen was closed at 4:00, which apparently meant no orders prior to. We thought we might stay for a drink on the patio but couldnt get service there either. After 20 minutes of waiting we left. Too bad, it's a nice setting in the hills.
Spend your money else where
Course is in really riough shape. We played the white tees. All tee boxes are chewed up domes-- there's not a level pieces of ground to be found. Putting on the greens was like putting on sticky orange peel. Bumpy and slow. Won't golf here again--ever!
No range balls no tiltleist golf balls staff was very good
Course was difficult but fun. Staff and restaurant staff was awesome. Definitely will play there again
