About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
The Club West Golf Club offers 18 holes on a Brian Whitcomb-designed golf course that was originally built in 1993 and measures 7,142 yards from the championship tees on a par-72 golf course.
Club West Golf Club claims the 17th as its signature hole. It features double-greens, tees elevated 100 feet above the course and vistas of South Mountain and of the Estrella Mountain Range; players ought to pick the green they desire and then check the yardage. If the wind isn't blowing you back, pick one less club than usual, aim right and swing smoothly.
After the round, head over to the Club West Golf Club's clubhouse, which is the gorgeous home of the Lakeside Grille, which serves breakfast and lunch inside the stunning dining room or on a spacious patio featuring a fireplace and lake view.

Like the layout
Fair-Ways not as good as a month ago. It appears there is a crunch somewhere. Small things slipping (water in sand traps, water coolers need painting)
Skip this one at any price
Warm up range is a gravel pit with really old balls. No yardage cards or GPS and hole routing signage missing for most holes. Tees and fairways are in poor condition and greens while fairly receptive were very bumpy. Four groups were piled up on the signature
17th, but we managed to finish in 4:47. The whole course has a unfinished appearance and needs a remodel.
Needs help
Needs a lot of tlc gets worse shape every time I play was one of the nicer courses not any more. Still would play it just not as often.
Club West
Course is in horrible condition! Once in very good condition years ago! So disappointed to see it being neglected! Shameful!
The owners don't care
I had heard this was a good layout in south valley. The layout is pretty good.
The conditions are awful. Apparently, the place is for sale. It looks like the owners have given up. I heard they only watered the greens all summer. The result is hard packed dirt where there should be rough. Sand traps sit in the middle of dirt. Maybe a random weed here and there.
Steps to tee boxes are crumbling and many tee boxes have as much bare ground as grass. Greens are bumpy with sparse overseed. Same with the rock hard fairways.
I've played most of the courses in the valley and this is the worst. Stay away until a new owner shows up and takes some interest in having a golf course worth playing.
Great Golf Course
I love this course. It is challenging and beautiful. The back nine is spectacular. Love the views and everyone was very friendly when we arrived and after our round. Will play here again. Price was right too.
Too slow
No rangers, pace waaayyyy ttttoooo ssslllooowww......
Couldn't play a round in 4 hours.
3 foursomes deep at tee boxes
Good Layout but poor condition
Liked the flow and variety of holes but fairways very thin, greens bumpy and tee boxes rough. The par 3 17th was one of the most exciting par 3's I've played but overall course conditions give it a poor rating. Will not come back.
A good round of golf
An interesting golf course with great views from some of the tee boxes. Club house kitchen closes at 3:00 pm!! Apart from not being able to get something to eat after playing, wasn't a big problem, it was a very enjoyable day!!
Jan 30 round
Had an enjoyable round. The fron nine is dry and a little difficult on iron shots. The back nine had a little more grass on the fairways which made the shots a little easier. Nice course to play.
Mismanaged start time
Our start time was delayed by 2 hours 15 min due to a 1 hour frost delay and a grossly miscalculated pace of play of a shotgun tournament that was before us. The staff repeatedly underestimated and mislead us about the length of delay. We were the first group scheduled after the tournament. We were moving along nicely for 5 holes with the course open in front of us. Then the staff started a foursome on the 6th tee in front of us. They did this despite repeatedly telling us that the course would be open and I'd be able to catch my plane ontime. Infuriating and inexcusable. The clubhouse starter apologized and refunded for unplayed holes, but It ruined the last day of an otherwise great golf trip to Arizona.
Beautiful scenery surrounds the course.
Our first time playing here proved to be an awesome experience. The setting is beautiful and the changes in elevation provide for a fun challenge. Would definitely return and recommend to all.
Nice course
Great course with nice fairways and well maintained greens. Couple challenging holes, but not difficult on the whole. Greens were difficult to read in early morning, but they were still more than playable. Highly recommend.
Club West
Course is in better shape than last year, a few sparse spots but overall very good. We played in a little over 3 hours. Greens were very good. I'd call it a very good course at a reasonable price, I'll definitely return.
Needs work
Ok layout but needs some work. Tee off boxes were very uneven and shaggy, about half of the ball washers were dry or broken. The fairways were ok for the most part but could have a little more grass. The greens putted ok but were hard and grass was pretty sparse.
conditions
Greens were not very smooth. They rolled okay. Fairways were okay also.
Nice layout and great value for your $
Nice track with a mix of shorter and longer holes. Great views. Greens are true and fast.
Little bit of the beaten track, but well worth the cost
Great layout but course has its drawbacks
Club West has its positives and negatives. The positives are that it has a fun layout with a good mixture of short and long holes. Some wide open and others quite narrow. The fairways are in good shape. The negatives are that the greens are not that great - bumpy and slow. Also, the pro shop is disorganized as there is no starter and it's hard to know when you can tee-off. Worth it to play it once but the green fees are too high to warrant more than once. The Foothills is comparable and much cheaper.
Probably played on some free certificate! We played there a week ago and it was nice.
